The Fagus or Deciduous beech (Nothofagus gunnii) is a bit of a Tasmanian icon as it is Australia's only cold climate winter-deciduous tree. It has very cute yet distinct leaves which are simply stunning in the Autumn time. One special place to view the beautiful Fagus is Mount Field National Park.
