Abbey Turner is a visual artist and secondary school teacher in Adelaide, South Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Education specialzing in Visual Arts and English (secondary) at Flinders University (2015), she was accepted into a Masters of Visual Art at the University of South Australia. In July 2017 she graduated from Masters in Visual Art and Creative Practice , developing her thesis surrounding the concept: “The 21st Century Femme-Fatale: Modernity and the Power Woman”.
Her artistic career began in 2014 when she was offered an opportunity to be involved in a portraiture prize and exhibit alongside a wide range of talented local artists. Working primarily in drawing and painting, Abbeys practice began with her obsession with pencil and pen, and has since expanded to include many other mediums. Her practice is inspired by the likes of Robert Hannaford, Gustav Klimt and Jenn Mann. Her artworks are an exploration of realistic culture and the effects of social society.
Exhibition space opens at 6pm, for an official welcome at 6:30PM and will be available for viewing and purchase until 7:30PM. Exhibition dates 27th July- 20th August 2018.
